Canine Kinesiology and Mineral Balancing for Dogs (HTMA)

My Story

Hi, I’m Carrie. I became a first time dog mum five years ago when I adopted Grace, a beautiful pure bred German Shepherd pup. Just weeks later, she suffered a life-threatening vaccine reaction that led to months of seizures. Then came another close call with a paralysis tick bite, and later, a diagnosis of bilateral hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis at age two.

Each challenge deepened my commitment to her care and called on every tool I had as a Naturopath and Neuroenergetic Kinesiologist. I researched everything I came across, determined to provide her with the best possible health and chance at a long life.

Along the way, I connected with the incredible Tamara Shead from Whiskey River Animal Clinic, who has taught me so much and been instrumental in helping Grace thrive today.

Supporting Grace has been the most meaningful healing work of my life, and it was only a matter of time until I extended that healing work professionally to other dogs. Now, in collaboration with Tam and Whiskey River, I am so excited to be offering Canine HTMA and Canine Kinesiology to other dogs and their devoted humans.

Kinesiology uses muscle testing to identify and release stress and imbalances in your dog. By accessing the nervous system through gentle pressure points, we can gain insight into which systems need support - whether physical, emotional, biochemical, or energetic.

Sessions can help with anxiety, trauma, and behavioural challenges, as well as any acute or chronic health conditions your dog may be facing. Kinesiology supports the body’s natural healing processes and can significantly improve quality of life for the whole family.

You can find me 2 Saturdays a month at the beautiful Whiskey River Animal Health Clinic in Dulgiugan, near Murwillumbah. Sessions are 1 hour and include a vibrational essence to take home.

Mineral Balancing for Dogs (HTMA)

Canine Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a non-invasive, science-based screening tool that measures the levels of essential minerals and toxic metals in your dog using a small sample of fur. Unlike blood tests that show a moment-in-time snapshot, HTMA reveals a longer-term view of your dog’s mineral status and metabolic trends over several months.

This test is processed through Interclinical Laboratories - Australia’s leading functional pathology lab for mineral analysis, ensuring clinical accuracy and reliable interpretation.

Why HTMA? Because minerals are the spark plugs of life. They influence everything from your dog’s energy, mood, and immune function, to bone health, digestion, skin condition, and nervous system balance. Even subtle imbalances can ripple into behaviour changes, food sensitivities, or chronic health complaints.

HTMA can reveal:

– Nutritional imbalances that may not show up in blood

– Early signs of stress, inflammation, or adrenal fatigue

– Hidden toxicities (like mercury, arsenic, or aluminium)

– Individualised insights to support tailored, whole-body healing

Dogs today are exposed to processed food, chemical treatments, over-vaccination, environmental toxins - that can silently disrupt their mineral balance. HTMA is a powerful tool to understand what’s happening beneath the surface before symptoms escalate.

Whether your dog is:

– Dealing with behavioural, skin, or digestive issues

– Experiencing low energy or stress

– Transitioning to a new life stage (e.g., puppyhood, desexing, senior years)

– Or simply in need of a holistic health check-in…

HTMA offers a deeply personalised roadmap for restoring balance, vitality, and calm from the inside out.

Your Canine Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) includes your report with a full email interpretation and

summary, plus prescription recommendations and dietary suggestions.

"I just wanted to give you an update on Charlotte. She’s being an absolute champion, to be honest, and doing everything the way she should. Just incredible the difference. Usually, she gets so sick during car trips - we did a two-hour trip today, not a single vomit. She slept most of the way. Then we were at the vet clinic, and she would usually be frantic, running around and panicking, but instead, she’s happily sitting there. I’ve got photos and videos of her lying on her back in the waiting room, having tummy tickles while these other dogs are in there freaking out, and she’s just so happy. Her blood tests were perfect, and she just sat there beautifully for the nurse while taking her blood. We went for a walk afterwards; she climbed up on the playground, which is all the things she used to do, but she’d stopped doing. She’s naturally pretty confident, and we’d done all these things as a puppy, but because of the stress and trauma and her adrenals being so affected, she’d started panicking at the playground too.  She’s just back to herself! It’s so cool, I definitely have you to thank.  So thank you so much!"
